Education

Purpose:
Ensure the Chapter provides CAM required continuing education for each two year CAM licensing period. Secondary: provide timely and up to date educational and informational programs for chapter members.

Duties:
Ensures that the Chapter, Chapter provided courses, and Chapter instructors are properly approved in advance by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
⦁ Research and select the educational programs to meet the needs of the Community Association Manager licensing requirements.
Work with all geographical areas of our Chapter to provide CEU classes at various times and places that will benefit all: Tallahassee, Perdido Key, Pensacola, Navarre, Fort Walton Beach, Destin and Panama City Beach.
⦁ Work with National to provide the designation courses in our areas.
⦁ Work to offer our approved Board Education Training.
⦁ Confirm speaker/educators needs and requirements such as audio/visual needs; handouts and the like.
⦁ At least 1 month before each educational luncheon, Education Chair will provide details to the CED to put out in the meeting/luncheon announcement.
⦁ Notify Chapter CED of speaker’s audio/visual needs.
⦁ Provide timely newsletter articles for quarterly publication to the CED.
⦁ Send thank you letters to speakers/educators after the event.
⦁ Attend as many educational events as employer will allow, assisting in set up, registration and breakdown of event.


Membership


Purpose:
To strengthen the Chapter by promoting the mission of CAI and membership benefits, recruiting new members, and retaining existing members.
Duties:
⦁ Prepare new member orientation to include mission of CAI and member benefits.
⦁ Provide member orientation to NEW members.
⦁ Introduce NEW members at the luncheons.
⦁ Work with CED to make sure that the NEW members are listed in the monthly newsletter.
⦁ Contact prospective members in person, by telephone, or email.
⦁ Contact expired members in person, by telephone, or email.
⦁ Provide corrected or updated membership information to the CED when applicable.
⦁ Work with CED on the monthly reports for the board.

Tradeshow



Purpose:
To promote member-to-member business networking opportunities, provide solid educational programming, and raise funds to for the local chapter. As well as attract new members.
Duties:
⦁ Research and provide information on location for tradeshow.
⦁ Submit to the Board for approval suggested themes for event.
⦁ Research and provide cost information for tradeshow and each part of having the show; room rental, food, drink, entertainment; and booth costs.
⦁ Sell booths and distribute show information to exhibitors, speakers, and potential attendees.
⦁ Engage sponsors for door prizes; drawing; and a grand prize activity to ensure traffic at each booth.
⦁ Create a promotional plan for traffic to the show and each booth.
⦁ Create a promotional plan for non-member traffic for the show.
⦁ Provide budget and report information to the BOD for approval.
⦁ Assist in all aspects of show set up, registration, event directions, vendor assistance, and other duties on the day of the show.
Goal:
Create an energetic event that connects decision makers with business partners, provides quality education, and covers all expenses related to event.

 

 

Newsletters/Public Relations

Purpose:
To identify, develop, and promote opportunities to promote the Chapter and community association living to the media (print, radio, TV and social media), including writing press releases and calendar announcements for the Chapter. Assist in putting the Quarterly Digital Newsletter together.
Duties:
⦁ Develop contacts within the media. Develop and help the Chapter maintain a media list and update the list at least twice annually. Develop contacts within the media to promote community association living and the role CAI plays in association living—as the recognized resource.
⦁ Work with Education, Special Events, and Conference/Expo Committees to promote events to the media and create marketing plans. Write press releases and calendar announcements for each event and provide to the Chapter for mailing; pay close attention to media deadlines. Coordinate with Chapter committees to market their activities to the membership and other audiences as deemed appropriate.
⦁ Seek opportunities to write press releases promoting Chapter news (i.e. election of Board, election of officers, legislative issues, promotion of new items/services, etc.).
⦁ Identify marketing opportunities for the Chapter (i.e., through the media, through allied organizations, through the development of material, etc.)
⦁ Review, critique, and provide feedback after each marketing attempt to analyze its success. Keep appropriate records
⦁ Review the Web site monthly and provides list of modifications and/or additions to Chapter CED. Provide regular reports to the Board on the progress and recommendations for the site
⦁ Research and develop vehicles to constantly promote the Web site to CAI members and non-members. Continually look for and consider ideas for increasing the content and links for the site
⦁ Update and help CED manage Chapter’s Facebook page.
Goal:
To assist the Chapter Executive Director and/or board members in their responsibility to maintain a positive image of the organization in the community by planning for and monitoring public relations and publicity activities.

Golf Tournament


Purpose:
To raise money for Habitat for Humanity and build camaraderie within the Chapter.
Duties:
⦁ Plan, promote, and carry out the annual golf outing.
⦁ Develops a committee of volunteers interested in achieving the goals of this committee.
⦁ Work with the Marketing and Publications Committee to promote the event.
⦁ Achieve financial goals, registration goals, and sponsorship goals of the outing.
⦁ Adhere to the time line developed by Chair and staff.
⦁ Attend all committee meetings and events leading up to and the conference.
Goal:
To successfully organize and implement the annual Golf Tournament for the North Gulf Coast Chapter Community Associations Institute.

Programs



Purpose:
To provide timely educational and informational programs for the general membership of the Chapter.
Duties:
⦁ Research and select topics, engage speakers for the topics
⦁ Present topics and speakers to the Board in Monthly Report for approval.
⦁ Gather biographical information about speaker
⦁ Provide speaker with speaking guidelines, discuss with speaker to clarify any questions or issues
⦁ Gather promotional information for program advertising flyer
⦁ Confirm speaker needs and speaker requirements such as audio/visual needs; handouts and the like.
⦁ Notify Chapter Office of speaker’s audio/visual needs.
⦁ Send thank you letters to speakers after the event.
⦁ Attend as many educational events as employer will allow, assisting in set up, registration, and break down of event.
